This 2012 Rally For Life is more important than ever as the pro-abortion industry lobbyists realise this may be their last chance for some time to change abortion laws in Queensland to get what they want – abortion up to the day of birth!

Given the current polls, it seems unlikely that premier Anna Bligh (EMILY’s List member) and her Labor government will retain power at the soon to be held state election.  The pro-abortion lobbyists will increase their pressure on Ms Bligh to change the law. 

Even though the most recent polls showed there is no concensus of opinion to legalise abortion in Queensland, pressure is still being applied by the noisy minority, and there could be the possibility that as the writing is already on the wall and with little more to lose from an election perspective, she could allow a private member’s bill decriminalising abortion to be tabled and then rushed through the parliament.
